"Füreinander, miteinander, bewegen." – under this motto, the Wuppertal Schwebebahnlauf has become one of the biggest running events in the Bergisches Land region since its launch in 2013. Thousands of individual runners of all ages and many company teams take part in the run each year. The Coroplast Group has been at the starting line of this event from the very beginning. We have successfully increased the size of our running team year after year. We’re looking forward to the next run, to the shared experience – and to the enthusiastic support of many colleagues along the route.
Our employees have the opportunity to prepare effectively for the big event while also doing something positive for their health. In conjunction with our partner SPORTS UP Schwelm we offer special run training which is open to all participants in the Schwebebahnlauf. The run training is suitable for everyone regardless of personal fitness level. It enables colleagues to assess their individual performance and make specific improvements. The joint training also boosts motivation, enjoyment and team spirit prior to the run.
Established in the 2021/22 season, the partnership between Coroplast Tape and the Bergischer Handballclub is based on a number of similar characteristics. These include the market-leading position of Coroplast Tape, the sporting excellence of the handball club and the regional responsibility of both partners. The combination of these factors is the driving force behind the collaboration, now extended until summer 2027, which is embraced by both partners with passion and creativity.
Coroplast Tape and the Bergischer HC are a great pairing. We are united by our regional connection through the Bergisches Land and we are championing the same issues with strong support for young people and emerging talent.
We regularly give free tickets to our employees so they can go to BHC games and cheer on the team. In addition to this support, as part of our collaboration with the University of Wuppertal we take responsibility as a strong partner in the region. Students have already had two opportunities to experience top-level handball at a significantly reduced special price at the Coroplast Student Day at BHC.
We thank all those responsible at Coroplast Tape for setting the course for supporting us in the future. This planning security means we can think long-term when it comes to our sport.
Our Coroplast Tape and Coroflex business units have supported the international Formula Student competition since 2011. In the competition, numerous university teams from all over the world develop and optimize their self-built formula racing cars. In late summer every year, the teams compete in different categories at the Hockenheimring motor racing circuit and show what their vehicles can achieve.
In 2023, we provided 41 student teams with more than 2,000 meters of our high-voltage cables and 2,000 meters of different adhesive tapes. This meant our products were used in approximately half of the racing cars built by the German-speaking teams. Two of the teams, KA-RacIng Electric from Karlsruhe and Rennstall Esslingen, made it into the top 10 in the overall ranking in the e-motor drive class.
In the world of motor sport, the efficiency and precision of the electric systems are crucial to the success of a vehicle. Our experts are pleased to support the development of impressive racing cars and give the students initial insights into the world of the automotive industry and its suppliers. We advise the teams with the aim of finding optimal solutions for the respective vehicles together. In this way, we get talented young people in the e-mobility field interested in our development capabilities and in the high quality, precision fit and flexibility of Coroplast Group products at an early stage.
Understanding how to use optimal high-voltage cables, especially in racing vehicles, is particularly important to us. We regularly make ourselves available as technical sparring partners for the engineers of the future and we look forward to exchanging information and ideas with them.
