The handover of the cheque to the Burgholz Children’s and Youth Hospice by our CEO Natalie Mekelburger

Common good We support education and social welfare projects

Our understanding of ourselves as a responsibly minded family company means that we are heavily involved in the region of Wuppertal, which we feel strongly connected to. That’s why we support education and social welfare projects – both financially and through our active participation.

Supporting life and learning We support the Christian Morgenstern Schule

Since 2015, we have supported the Christian Morgenstern Schule, a private Waldorf school in Wuppertal, which concentrates on the specialist areas of “Learning” and “Emotional and social development”. To do so, the institute uses various progressive pedagogical methods, such as eurythmy, language, music or art therapy. There, we support children who have difficulties with learning or living in community.

The educational institute also has wonderful outdoor grounds. For example, it has a new climbing tower, which we helped to fund in 2022 and not only promotes surefootedness, but also builds children’s self-confidence.

Voluntary work We are supporters of the Wuppertal Volunteer Fire Department

Serving the common good and helping citizens in need – with this goal in mind, countless people are involved in volunteer fire brigades across Germany. The Coroplast Group supports this important voluntary work and does its bit in and on behalf of Wuppertal.

Since the 1950s, we have had our own volunteer fire department, which is on hand for emergencies on the company premises and lends skilled assistance. We have also been supporting the Nächstebreck Volunteer Fire Department for many years, which in addition to its acute emergency response, plays an important role in training young volunteers.

Financial support We support the Christliche Hospizstiftung Wuppertal

The ecumenical foundation combines the forces of six Christian institutions. It finds its origins in the Christian mission to visit the sick, comfort the grieving and come alongside them in difficult situations. Even today, this mission remains as important as ever and we support the exemplary work of the volunteer hospice companions with our donations.

Donation and volunteering We lend a hand to the Wuppertaler Tafel and the Wuppertaler Kindertafel

In 1995, the Wuppertaler Tafel took action to ensure that no one in Wuppertal went hungry. A canteen, food bank and a community food truck that operates in popular community hubs every day. The Tafel also offers clothing at fair prices in its very own community department store, while the Kindertafel serves children aged six and up free of charge.

We support this engagement in various ways: for example, we provide financial support for concrete needs and projects, including the purchase of a new refrigerated van that can be used to collect bulk donations of food. Our apprentices are also eager to get involved in “Social Days”. The talented young people help to unpack and sort food, assemble furniture or assist with renovating the premises.
