Maximum satisfaction for many decades: Gabriele Poukouo-Neiss

Gabriele Poukouo-Neiss started at the Coroplast Group in 1987 – and remains there to this day. In her current position as a specialist in production organization at Coroplast Tape, she works passionately to ensure the seamless coordination of the production processes. Read Gabriele Poukouo-Neiss’s Employee Story to find out where she started her career, which stations she has passed through and what she appreciates about the Coroplast Group after all these years.

Engagement meets loyalty

After qualifying as a florist and spending a further three years at a food company, the then 24-year-old applied for the Coroplast Group. “A friend who was already working here told me about the vacancies,” says Gabriele Poukouo-Neiss about her beginnings at the company. Only one week later, she started her career as a quality tester in the Coroflex division – and remained in this position for a proud 27 years. Gabriele Poukouo-Neiss especially enjoyed the responsibility that she was able to take on during her time there – for example, in the form of foreman work, which included communicating with Sales or monitoring production.

During this time, she also experienced numerous changes in the course of advancing digitalization. Tasks that still had to be done manually at the start of her career are now done fully automatically in many areas. However, her daily work life was not the only thing to change: seven years after starting at the company, Gabriele Poukouo-Neiss was expecting a child. It was already decided, both by her and the company, that she would return afterwards. “I am incredibly thankful that my boss at the time gave me this assurance. It was a good feeling,” she reports.  After her maternity leave, she returned to her career at the Coroplast Group with family-friendly conditions. For example, she was given adjusted working hours that were compatible with the hours of kindergarten and school.

From new colleagues to digitalization: Gabriele Poukouo-Neiss has experienced a number of change processes at the Coroplast Group.

She quickly became valued as an employee by the Coroplast Group, not least due to her remarkable dedication and conscientious approach. “Nothing was beneath me. On the contrary, I have always enjoyed completely dedicating myself to new things,” describes Gabriele Poukouo-Neiss. Her high adaptability eventually led to her move to the Coroplast Tape division in 2014, where she initially started as a production worker. After around five years, she took on her current position, in which she ensures optimal working conditions as a specialist in production organization.

Give and take

One thing has been noticeable to Gabriele Poukouo-Neiss since her first day at the Coroplast Group: a lot of appreciation. “The company gives a lot back,” she says with a sense of satisfaction. From the ability to balance family and career, to plenty of fun celebrations, all the way through to tickets for sporting events or musicals – the 61-year-old doesn’t take it for granted that an employer has this much to offer.

Boundless energy, at work and at home

In her free time, Gabriele Poukouo-Neiss is a passionate dog agility trainer and member of the Boxer Club Munich. She trains with her dog for trials or championships twice a week. Sometimes, this takes her all across Germany. Her love for this athletic dog breed started in childhood. “In those days, we also had a boxer; but he only understood Italian,” she reminisces with a laugh.

The Coroplast Group in one word

Gabriele Poukouo-Neiss didn’t have to think long about this question: “Open-minded. I have found the Coroplast Group to be a company that is always forward-looking and ready for change.”
