Deborah Weck first became aware of Coroplast Group thanks to her brother, who was working at Coroplast Tape at the time and sparked her early interest in the company. As she was reaching the end of high school, she attended a taster day where Coroplast Group showcased its broad training opportunities. She was so impressed that she went on to complete a voluntary internship during the summer, which cemented her decision to embark on her career with the company. As she looked for the ideal starting opportunity, the high school graduate had a clear vision in mind: “A full-time study program just didn’t appeal to me, but I wasn’t ready to give up on studying altogether. At the same time, my internship helped me discover a real passion for practical, hands-on work.” She ultimately chose a dual study program at Coroplast Group, which offered both industrial clerk training and a Bachelor’s degree in International Management. The prospect of a guaranteed job offer upon graduation made her decision all the more compelling.
Deborah rotated through various departments during her training, including procurement, finance, and sales. This experience taught her how the different areas of the company fit together, and she now has a thorough understanding of the interdisciplinary processes at Coroplast Group. “This was the ideal way to start building up a solid network throughout the entire company,” she explains. This wide-ranging insight helped her decide which of the many departments to focus on by the end of her training: “I was particularly keen to go into supply chain management, so I was delighted to find out that there were opportunities for me in this area.” She was drawn to supply chain management right from the start, and her interest has only grown stronger over time. In her current role as a supply chain planner, she is responsible for material planning, preparing analysis and participating in optimization projects. She is actively involved in international projects and continuously liaises with suppliers from across the globe. Deborah values the opportunities for cultural exchange across all aspects of her work: “It’s exciting to see how different perspectives can shape the working environment.”
A standout moment in her career so far was her first international business trip in June 2024. Together with her supervisor, Deborah travelled to the USA to support Coroplast Group’s American site. “It was great to get to know the colleagues I often work with digitally in person," she enthuses.
I am thankful for the trust that the Coroplast Group has put in me from the very beginning of my career. It is a great opportunity to be given the chance to contribute my skills on a global level and gain valuable international experience at a young age.
Whether it’s a far-flung adventure or a mini break: Deborah loves spending her free time discovering new cultures and countries. Given the considerable time investment required during her dual study program, she now finds even greater enjoyment in the extra freedom she has for traveling. When it comes to finding a physical balance, Deborah has found kickboxing to be the perfect fit. “Kickboxing is great because it improves strength, endurance, and coordination all at once,” she explains with excitement. With training twice a week, she sees it as the ideal opportunity to blow off steam after work.
If Deborah Weck had to sum up Coroplast Group in one word, she wouldn’t hesitate to say, “Future-oriented! I’ve always found Coroplast Group to be a company that is constantly planning ahead.”
