On April 23, 2026, it’s that time again: On Girls’ Day, we want to inspire girls to explore the many technical careers in which men still significantly outnumber women – including at our company.
To help change this, you will spend a day in our IT department, accompanied by our contact person for young talents and several apprentices. Here, you can look over the shoulders of our specialists and get a real impression of what their daily work looks like. You will also get a behind-the-scenes look at our IT department.
You will also have the opportunity to demonstrate your practical skills. Together with our apprentices, you will take apart and reassemble a computer. In addition, you will gain your first programming experience by creating small programs using Scratch.
Throughout the day and at the end of the program, there will be plenty of opportunities to ask questions and learn more about training paths and careers in IT at the Coroplast Group.
I believe it’s important for girls to experience early on how exciting technical careers can be. On Girls’ Day, they can try out technology themselves, ask questions, and get a first impression of the opportunities that may be open to them in the future.
As an international family business, we see diversity as an opportunity. Promoting young talent also plays an important role for us. This is also demonstrated by awards such as “Germany's Best Apprenticeship 2024” which is presented by the business magazine “Capital”.
Under the motto “The future is yours!”, students aged 12 and up can gain an insight into STEM professions (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) and meet female role models in leadership positions. The focus is on professions in which women make up less than 40 percent of workforce.
Girls'Day is sponsored by the Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth, the Ministry of Education and Research and other partners. The aim is to give girls an overview of their apprenticeship opportunities - free from gender-specific job descriptions.
