Our Young Talents team welcomed all apprentices – both current and future – in the relaxed atmosphere of our Wuppertal lounge. The day kicked off with a casual icebreaker game that immediately sparked good vibes and lively conversations. In no time, the teams for the upcoming challenges were formed.
Right after the warm-up, the newly formed teams set off on an exciting scavenger hunt. Their mission: to find a hidden chest somewhere on the company grounds by solving a series of riddles and decoding tricky clues. On top of that, each group was challenged to come up with a team motto or even design a crest. Here are just a few of their creative ideas:
I really enjoyed getting to know the new apprentices and having the chance to connect. What made me especially happy was being able to share some tips with a new apprentice in my field to help them get started.
After successfully completing the scavenger hunt, all participants came together for a shared lunch in the company cafeteria. Over hearty meals and cool drinks, the apprentices exchanged stories and reflected on the morning’s experiences. For the future apprentices in particular, the Get Together was the perfect opportunity to start building their network and get to know their future team – even before the official start of their apprenticeship.
It’s always impressive to see how quickly young people connect through formats like this. And that’s exactly what we want to encourage: that our apprentices feel like part of the company from day one, support one another, and grow together.
Starting August 1, we’ll officially welcome eleven new apprentices to the company. As in previous years, their journey into professional life will begin with a well-organized onboarding week. This introduction goes beyond technical training – it’s designed to help them feel at home from day one. We’re excited about the fresh perspectives these new talents will bring and are already looking forward to having them on board!
