A jury of 16 experts from politics, business, science and society selected the winners from 100 submissions. From large international corporations to family-run craft businesses, the winners of the competition show how successful structural change can be achieved with the help of innovative entrepreneurial spirit.
On September 3, 2018, the prizewinners met in Düsseldorf to receive their awards from Minister of Economic Affairs Pinkwart. The Ministry of Economics, Innovation, Digitisation and Energy of North Rhine-Westphalia, Rheinische Post and "Germany - Land of Ideas" had invited to the festivities.
Minister Pinkwart presented Wolfram Berns of the Coroplast Group, as well as the nine other prize winners, with their well-deserved certificates. The event ended in Düsseldorf with a standing reception and plenty of time for exchange and networking.
I am delighted with this special award. As a company in the midst of the digital transformation process, it is a sign that we are an exemplary model for the transformation process of a region and city that has long since been known for so much more than being the home of coal, steel and textiles. More than anything else, it is a team effort for which every staff member at the Coroplast Group deserves credit.
The ongoing structural change of companies in all sectors promotes and demands creative corporate strategies, the use of new technologies and the dynamic adaptation of production conditions. „NRW – Wirtschaft im Wandel" makes this creativity transparent and is intended to encourage imitation. The competition is organised by the initiative "Germany - Land of Ideas" and Rheinische Post. In addition to the regional sponsor Deutsche Bank, the competition's partners are the auditing firm PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) and the organisational consultants Kienbaum.
