Coroplast Global | News | 27 Apr 2026 Girls’Day 2026: Inspiring young female talent to explore the world of IT

Girls’Day is a nationwide action day that encourages female students to explore career fields they may not have considered as their first choice. The focus is particularly on areas in which women have been underrepresented so far – for example technology, skilled trades, or IT. We also want to inspire more young women to pursue our diverse technical training opportunities, which is why we were especially pleased to see such great interest from the students.

We support girls – free from gender stereotypes

On April 23, 2026, the Future Day took place once again, aiming to inspire girls to explore technical career paths.

Exciting Insights Into Our IT World

To spark greater interest among girls for technical professions, we invited a group of female students this year to spend a full day discovering our IT world. Accompanied by our contact person for young talent and our IT experts, they explored various areas of our IT department. The participants gained fascinating insights into our digital processes and learned first‑hand how diverse and creative jobs in IT can be. This gave them a vivid impression of the future opportunities and career paths the IT sector has to offer.

Experiencing Everyday Work Up Close

They were also able to put their creativity to the test: using the easy‑to‑use programming platform Scratch, they completed their first programming tasks.

Within the “Programming” module, the students developed their own version of the classic video game Frogger. Along the way, they learned fundamental concepts of logic and algorithmic thinking – skills that play an important role in professional software development as well. At the same time, the project allowed plenty of space for creativity and was clearly very enjoyable for the students.

Exchange in a Relaxed Atmosphere

After an eventful morning, the group headed to the company restaurant, where a delicious lunch awaited them. In a relaxed setting, the students had the opportunity to openly exchange ideas with our colleagues and learn more about everyday working life in IT.

During Girls’Day 2026, the participants gained exciting insights into the working world at Coroplast Group. At the end of the day, they proudly presented their certificates on the rooftop terrace at the site.

I believe it is important for girls to experience early on how exciting technical professions can be. On Girls’ Day, they can try out technology for themselves, ask questions, and get a first impression of the opportunities that may be available to them in the future.

The idea behind Girls’Day

Girls’Day is a nationwide initiative that encourages female students to explore professions they might not immediately consider as their first career choice. The focus is particularly on fields where women are still underrepresented – for example, technology, science, skilled trades, or IT. On this day, girls have the opportunity to experience different career fields in a hands‑on way, get to know companies, and gain insights into various career paths.
