  • How is the apprenticeship conducted?

    Our apprentices begin with a one-year basic training in electrics, divided into five areas of learning:

    • Introduction to electronics: measuring electronic variables; capacitors, diodes, resistors
    • Basics of programmable logic controllers (PLC programming)
    • Manual production processes: filing, thread-cutting
    • Machine production processes: drilling, countersinking, grinding
    • Basics of pneumatics

    After completion of the one-year basic training, trainees continue their vocational training at the Coroplast Group. Together with qualified tradespeople and master craftspeople, they carry out maintenance and repairs and also work independently and under their own responsibility on various projects.

  • How is the apprenticeship conducted?

    Our apprentices begin with a one-year basic training in electrics, divided into five areas of learning:

    • Introduction to electronics: reading technical drawings and circuit diagrams
    • Producing components and assemblies using both manual and machine-based manufacturing techniques
    • Building installation circuits for lighting and power outlets
    • Fundamentals of electronics and IT technology
    • Fundamentals of programmable logic controllers (SPS programming)

    After completion of the one-year basic training, trainees continue their vocational training at the Coroplast Group. Together with qualified tradespeople and master craftspeople, they carry out maintenance and repairs and work independently and under their own responsibility on various projects.

    The apprenticeship at a glance

    You’ll learn how to power, control, and maintain systems – making sure production stays up and running at all times.

    • Duration of training: 3.5 years
    • Basic training: one year at the BZI (Berufsbildungszentrum der Remscheider Metall- und Elektroindustrie GmbH)
    • Prerequisite: mittlere Reife (GCSE)
    • Other skills: strong knowledge of mathematics, German, and physics
    • Training content: installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems; testing safety and functionality; measuring, analyzing, and optimizing energy and control systems
    • Trade school: part-time courses at “Berufskolleg am Haspel” in Wuppertal
  • How is the apprenticeship conducted?

    In the course of their training, our trainees are deployed in all departments relevant to logistics, including incoming goods, the warehouse and the dispatch department. In the incoming goods department, for example, the trainees learn to register and unload the goods as they arrive and check them for completeness and quality. In the warehouse, they pick the goods using scanners and computers and prepare them for production purposes. In the dispatch department the finished products are packaged and labelled. Moreover, the trainees are given an insight into the special logistical requirements of an automotive supplier. During this process, they have the opportunity to gain a forklift driver’s licence to enable them to professionally transport the raw materials and finished products.

    • Machine production processes: drilling, milling, countersinking, turning, grinding
    • Manual production processes: filing, chiselling, thread-cutting

    • Basics of control technology and pneumatics

    After completion of the one-year basic training, trainees continue their vocational training at the Coroplast Group.     • Duration of training: 3.5 years

    • Training content: manufacturing, assembling and disassembling of components and modules; maintaining equipment; familiarisation with control technology; building, upgrading and testing of electronic components used in control technology

  • How is the apprenticeship conducted?

    Our trainees begin with a six-month basic training in metalworking, divided into three areas of learning:

    • Machine production processes: drilling, milling, countersinking, turning, grinding
    • Manual manufacturing processes: filling, chiselling, thread cutting
    • Basics of pneumatics

    Once the basic training is completed, training continues at the Coroplast Group. Switching every four weeks, the trainees work in all of the relevant production departments, where they learn to operate the various types of production machinery, set them up and retool them. Additional stints are planned in work preparation and the laboratory. In the second year of vocational training, they are specifically trained in a production department to learn how to operate the machines independently.

    After getting to know all the key areas of production, you'll dive into everything related to our machines—so you can set them up and operate them independently.

    • Training duration: 2 years
    • Basic training: 6 months vocational training centre of the Remscheider Metall- und Elektroindustrie GmbH (BZI)
    • Prerequisite: secondary school leaving certificate
    • Other skills: good knowledge of mathematics and German
    • Training contents: Getting to know control and regulating technology; setting up and operating production plants; controlling the material flow; allocating and handling materials, operating and auxiliary materials; implementing quality assurance measures
    • Vocational school: part-time lessons at the vocational college for technology in Remscheid

  • How is the apprenticeship conducted?

    Our apprentices start with a one-year basic electrical training. This is divided into five learning areas:

    • Manual production methods: Filing, thread cutting
    • Mechanical manufacturing processes: Drilling, countersinking, reaming
    • Basics of pneumatics
    • Introduction to electronics: measurement of electronic quantities; capacitors, diodes, resistors
    • Basics of programmable logic control (SPS programming)

    After completion of the one-year basic training, training will continue at the Coroplast Group. Together with the journeymen and master craftsmen, they carry out maintenance work, repairs and commissioning of machines. They also work independently and on their own responsibility on projects.

    • Training duration: 3,5 years
    • Basic training: 1 year vocational training centre of Rem-scheider Metall- und Elektroindustrie GmbH (BZI)
    • Requirement: mittlere Reife (GCSE)
    • Other skills: good knowledge of mathematics, German and physics
    • Training contents: manufacture of components and devices made of various materials, commissioning, operation, maintenance and repair of our production and operating facilities (including electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic control systems)
    • Vocational school: part-time courses at “Berufskolleg am Haspel” in Wuppertal
  • How is the apprenticeship conducted?

    As an apprentice, you’ll start with a variety of assignments in different production areas, getting to know each machine and its functions in detail. After your first year of the apprenticeship, you’ll complete a six-month, inter-company basic course in metal and plastics at the BZI. This course covers four key learning areas:

    • Mechanical manufacturing processes: Drilling, milling, countersinking, turning, grinding
    • Manual manufacturing processes: Files, chisels, thread cutting
    • Basics in welding, gluing, riveting
    • Basics of control technology/pneumatics

    After the basic training, our apprentices continue their training in the production area they have already got to know. They carry out the work according to the production order and document it afterwards. In addition, the manufacturing process is ensured, in which devices, machines and systems are operated and monitored.

    • Other knowledge: good knowledge of mathematics, German, physics and chemistry
    • Training contents: set-up and operation of production plants, application of special processing methods such as calendering, extrusion and coating, familiarisation with control and regulation technology as well as pneumatic and hydraulic systems, implementation of quality assurance measures.

The following apprenticeship positions are available in the commercial field at our company:

  • How is the apprenticeship conducted?

    During their apprenticeship, our trainees become comprehensively familiarised with the Coroplast Group's IT department. Furthermore, they are sent to get to know other departments such as purchasing, sales and production. Trained educational officers are in charge of the trainees and give them practical tasks and projects that they are required to complete independently and under their own responsibility. At the same time they learn how to find solutions for colleagues who contact them with queries or problems via the internal IT hotline. In the course of this process, the trainees develop contacts throughout the company and get to know the workflows in various departments.

    • Duration of training: 3 years
    • Prerequisite: Abitur (matriculation) or advanced technical college certificate in business, preferably with the focus on IT or computer science
    • Other skills: good knowledge of mathematics, German and English
    • Training content: system architecture, hardware and operating systems; user software, networks, services, creating and maintaining system solutions, programming techniques, system maintenance, system development
    • Trade school: part-time courses at “Berufskolleg am Haspel” (IT) and at “Berufskolleg Wuppertal-Barmen” (business)

  • How is the apprenticeship conducted?

    Our trainees are deployed in various departments such as purchasing, sales, production, production planning, marketing, finance and human resources. They receive in-depth knowledge of the business processes of the company. The trainees also gain insights into planning and organisation as well as technical knowledge regarding our production processes and products.

    In each department, you'll get hands-on experience and learn how commercial processes connect and shape everyday business operations.

    • Duration of training: 2.5 years
    • Prerequisite: Abitur (matriculation) or advanced technical college certificate in business
    • Other skills: good knowledge of mathematics, German and English
    • Training content: purchasing and sales, human resources, finance, production planning, getting to know markets, customers, products and services; planning and organisation, information procurement
    • Trade school: block teaching at “Berufskolleg Wirtschaft und Verwaltung Remscheid” (3 blocks of approx. 10 weeks)

  • What is involved in the training process?

    Our students in this program are employed in our various departments, such as purchasing, sales, production, finance and human resources. You get deep insights into our company’s business processes. You are taught skills in the area of planning and organization as well as acquire technical knowledge about our production and products. You can also gain practical experience in development, shipping, or marketing.

    The education and training at a glance:

    • Training as an Industrial Management Assistant (m/f/d)
    • Duration of apprenticeship: 2.5 years
    • Prerequisite: High School Diploma
    • Other skills: good knowledge of mathematics, German, and English
    • Training content: purchasing and sales, human resources, finance, production, getting to know markets, customers, products and services; planning and organization, information procurement
    • Vocational school: teaching blocks at the Vocational College of Wuppertal-Barmen (3 blocks à approx. 10 weeks each)
    • Studies in International Management (B.A.) at FOM University of Economics and Management in Wuppertal
    • Lectures twice a week in the evening and every 14 days on Saturday
    • Duration of studies: 3.5 years (7 semesters)
  • What is involved in the training process?

    Our students in this program are employed in our individual IT departments, such as IT Applications, IT Infrastructure, IT Security, and Digital Transformation. You get deep insights into our company’s business processes and especially the IT departments. You are also taught skills in the area of planning and organization. You are involved in projects from the start.

    The education and training at a glance:

    • Dual Study Program Business Information Systems with focus on Software Engineering (B.Sc.)
    • Duration of studies: 3 years (6 semesters)
    • Prerequisite: High School Diploma
    • Practical training: deployment in the various IT areas such as IT applications, IT infrastructure, IT security, and digital transformation
