In August 2020, we welcomed the 17 new trainees at our Wuppertal production site. With a total of 47 trainees, the number of apprentices has more than doubled in the last ten years - a nice proof of our regional commitment and the will to give young career starters the chance to develop themselves. As a responsible family business, we have always relied on our own young talents and are pleased that we now not only have the most trainees in the company's history but can also offer new apprenticeships.
In the industrial-technical sector, we now offer the new apprenticeship "mechatronics technician" in addition to the machine and plant operator, process or industrial mechanic and electronic technician for automation technology. In this way, we are taking into account the increasing automation and digitalization of our systems and processes and are rounding out our training portfolio accordingly.
In our production, automation has been advancing in great strides for years. That is why I am very pleased that this year we are also starting to train our own mechatronics engineers who, in three and a half years, will be able to operate these complex machines professionally and maintain and optimize them electronically and mechanically.
In the commercial area we are looking forward to additional support. For example, two dual students - prospective industrial clerks, who also study part-time "International Management" at FOM - have started with us. In addition, three industrial clerk trainees and an IT trainee for system integration started their apprenticeships. All new commercial trainees pass through various stations and departments in the central division of the Coroplast Group as well as in the individual business units, thus learning about the processes of a modern and internationally operating family business in a practical way. "In general, the training at Coroplast is very well structured, so that even in the current situation, the training will largely proceed as usual - thanks to our team of dedicated trainers and training officers, without whom this would not be possible at all," says Carolin Rüthers, who is responsible for the junior staff programmes at Coroplast Group. In addition to the usual curriculum, the trainees also take part in product and IT trainings and other trainings offered by the CoroAcademy. The new apprenticeships for the coming training year are now available on the Coroplast Group career website.
